About The Founder

My name is Frank Abney Jr., and I understand deeply the need for an organization like the Relief Foundation for Veterans. Born in New York, I joined the United States Marine Corps directly after high school. After completing my service, I found myself facing many of the same barriers that many returning veterans face—deteriorating mental health, difficulty retaining a job, and no clear path forward. Like so many others, I struggled to navigate life after service and was unaware of the benefits available to me. It wasn’t until I discovered what the Department of Veterans Affairs could offer that I was able to use my G.I. Bill to finish my education and secure stable housing. Now, it’s my mission to ensure that other veterans are aware of the resources that can help them transition back into civilian life.

Since becoming a 501(c)(3) in 2022, the Relief Foundation for Veterans has been committed to supporting veterans as they transition back into civilian life. Over 200,000 veterans return home each year, many of whom face significant challenges, including mental and physical health issues, unemployment, and homelessness. We’ve seen these struggles firsthand. One example is a veteran we helped who was on the brink of homelessness and, thanks to our support, is now gainfully employed. It’s a small victory, but it’s a reminder of the difference we can make by helping veterans navigate the complexities of returning to civilian life. Our foundation is here to ensure that no veteran faces these challenges alone.

We help tackle these challenges by providing essential services such as assistance with disability claims, housing support, and community events that foster a sense of belonging. Just recently, we partnered with the American Heart Association and the Veterans of Foreign Wars to renovate the Desert Hot Springs community. Picture this: Imagine sacrificing so much for your country, only to return home and face barriers that prevent you from living a fulfilling life. We’ve witnessed veterans who feel forgotten, struggling to find their place, feeling isolated. But with just a little support, we can change that narrative. We’ve helped veterans secure housing, vehicles, and a new sense of purpose.

Today, I’m asking for your support. We are working toward a goal of raising $25,000 to provide crucial support for all the veterans who need it. Your contribution can make a real difference, whether it’s helping a veteran find a place to call home, assisting with employment opportunities, or simply giving them the tools they need to live a fulfilling life. No veteran should have to face these struggles alone. Together, we can give back to those who’ve given so much for our country.

Serving our veterans the way they have served us is the least we can do. Whether it’s through volunteering, donations, or simply spreading the word, you can help us make a lasting impact. Together, we can ensure our veterans receive the support they truly deserve. Join us in honoring their sacrifice by empowering their future. Thank you.
